About
Coming Home Wellness was born out of my desire to have a place where people could come in order to rest, restore, and pour into themselves and their community through collective care – in a space of interdependence.
Even as an only child my toys and I shared in creating community. —Sue

Sue Acito
(she/her)
Founder
Hi, I'm Sue a queer, multi-ethnic in-betweener (“but what are you really?”). Fueled life’s experiences, including grief, chronic illness and death, identity exploration, my cancer diagnosis, and seeing how rest, restoration, and community have been instrumental in helping me want to come home to myself, I founded Coming Home Wellness (CHW).
CHW is a community and a space that offers different practices and programs where people can explore rest, restoration, and pour into themselves and begin to (re)build a sense of belonging within themselves.
I have a Bachelor’s in Anthropology and History and a Master’s in Educational Counseling. I’m also a trained Crisis Counselor, Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200), and Mindful Self-compassion teacher.

Mission & Values
You belong here.
Coming Home Wellness (CHW) is a trauma-informed community whose living mission is to support mental health, rest and restoration, and presence through expression, movement, and collective care.
We believe that by nurturing our physical, emotional, and mental well-being, we can cultivate a welcoming sense of home within ourselves and communities.
CHW supports people of the global majority and those from historically marginalized communities (LGBTQIA+, disabled, acutely and chronically ill, and others) who wish to claim or reclaim their senses of individual and collective belonging through collective care.
Some of our values include:
Authenticity: Understanding and embracing one’s true self, including all aspects of their identity, without fear of judgment. (Recognizing that the society we live in plays a significant role in how we are perceived.)
Being and Belonging: Experiencing or feeling a sense of connection with oneself, others, and the past, present, and future communities around them.
Mindful Self-compassion: Treating oneself with kindness, understanding, and empathy, in times of difficulty AND times of joy.
Rest and Restoration: Prioritizing physical, mental, and emotional ease through practices that promote relaxation, rejuvenation, and healing as defined by you.
DEI Statement
Coming Home Wellness co-creates a space for people wanting to be in community because of, rather than regardless of, their backgrounds and experiences, in order to rest, express, and experience being and belonging.
Coming Home Wellness is not merely a virtual or physical space; it's a living commitment to creating a world where people can experience the transformative power of belonging and explore what ease might look and feel like. We invite you to join us in building this inclusive haven, where rest, restoration, and curiosity light a way for collective healing and liberation.
We believe true belonging flourishes when people feel emboldened to explore and express their authentic voice while building community rooted in curiosity, rest, acknowledgement, and expression.
